2 pkgs. dry onion soup mix (pareve)
4 medium onions, diced
3 tbsp. margarine
dried French bread slices
1/4 lb. Swiss cheese coarsely grated
- Prepare soup according to package directions.
- Sauté onions in margarine until golden brown. Add to soup and simmer. Strain, if desired.
- Pour soup into individual ovenproof casseroles. Top each with a slice of bread, and sprinkle with cheese.
- Broil until cheese bubbles, about 5 minutes.
